In December of last year, Yakuza 0, Kiwami, and Kiwami 2 were removed from Game Pass for reasons. But XGP spotted their listings return to the Xbox Store, which suggested that they’d be free for Game Pass subscribers to download again. And what do you know? What does excite me is that 9 Years Of Shadows otherwise looks fab, due to richly detailed pixel art, glittering world design, and a sidekick that appears to be a teddy bear ghost. A Little To The Left’s Holiday Event is free, but you’ll need to get cracking on those daily puzzles. Each one unlocks at midnight and vanishes at the same time the following day. I haven’t been made privy to any of the puzzles except for the gingerbread figure who’s been smashed to smithereens you can see above, but I’m definitely up for a spot of seasonal tidying over the Christmas hols....

There’s probably not much point in me explaining what Fallout is. The original is one of the seminal CRPGs from the previous millennium. That’s a solid 1000 years of gaming. Developed by Interplay and released in 1997, it mixed the raygun gothic, atompunk style of the sci-fi of the 1950s with the eschatological terror of the same period, wrought large across the continental United States of America. It’s quite good....
A chill exploration game in the vein of ThatGameCompany’s Flower or Journey (both of which feature in Giant Squid creative director Matt Nava’s resume), Abzû is a game about finding wonder and serenity as you dive through shimmering shoals and gorgeous reefs. Abzû’s been out for a good while now, and this isn’t even its first time as an Epic freebie. But it sounds like an utterly delightful experience, one Pip Warr adored in her review....
Last week, the ABK Worker’s Alliance (a group that was formed after Activision Blizzard were sued by the DFEH for alleged harassment and discrimination) set up a fundraiser to support employees taking part in a work stoppage. This started when Raven Software employees held a walkout to protest almost a third of their QA team being let go, which was followed by further walkouts across the wider company. The Worker’s Alliance marked this fund as the official initiation of their strike, and a number of employees have spoken out on social media to say they’re signing union cards....
Incredibly, the game has delivered. I’m having fun - albeit with a tinge of unease. Not only does the game act like a blaring reminder that I’ve lost touch with the Top 40, it’s also a bizarre metaverse where nothing is sacred.

Alba’s Adventure is something of a departure for Ustwo, dropping the toy-like dioramas of Monument Valley and Assemble With Care for a more ambitious, tropical open world. Off on her hols with her grandparents, Alba finds a would-be idyllic town in shambles....
Only recently the UK trade body Ukie published a census highlighting the lack of diversity in the industry, in particular showing that just 10% of the workforce are people from BAME (Black and Minority Ethnic) backgrounds, and only 2% from a black background. These figures show how important organisations like POC in Play are to redressing the balance. Their monthly meet-ups are a safe space for people of colour to get together to share concerns and experiences....
At the moment, I’ve only been able to test AMD’s more expensive RX 6800 XT so far, so I’ll have to reserve judgement on the regular RX 6800’s ray tracing performance until a later date. However, I suspect my conclusions will be largely the same. For while Nvidia’s RTX cards increasingly have their sophisticated DLSS technology to fall back on to help bump up the frame rate to an acceptable level when ray tracing is enabled, AMD have nothing at all....
