The Syndicate has finally rebuilt Skull Town after its destruction way back in Season 5, but now it is known as Relic. The large new point of interest is nestled between Caustic Treatment, Market, and Octane’s Gauntlet on the south side of Kings Canyon, and looks very much like a spiritual successor to the beloved Skull Town from the early days of Apex. A packed town area beneath a giant red beast skull, it looks to provide exactly the same kind of chaotic early-game fighting, both on street level and across rooftops, which made Skull Town so popular....

Enfusion’s new website says their goal isn’t “flexing with cutting-edge graphics technology”, rather making “more believable” worlds with well-lit days and night cycles, vegetation moving in the wind, stars lighting the night sky, and all that. Axiom Verge 2, a semi-sequel that’s set in the same universe as Axiom Verge 1 but can be played standalone without any knowledge of what went down beforehand, is a more sedate affair than its predecessor, but Happ’s fascination with portals, overlapping worlds and seeing beyond the veil has only grown stronger in the intervening six years.
