Activision are kicking things off with a multiplayer reveal scheduled for September 7th. They’ve already given some details about Vanguard’s multiplayer, saying it will “feature a massive day one multiplayer offering, with 20 maps available at launch including 16 built for core gameplay.” They’ve also mentioned a more advanced Gunsmith and Caliber system along with the “next generation” of the 2v2 Gunfight mode from Modern Warfare. The multiplayer reveal event will likely give folks a proper look at all of that....

Yesterday’s patch notes explain a few fixes and the Bruen nerf, though it’s a little vague so it’ll take some testing and time to internalise precisely what “reduced damage range” means for your murders. The other tweaks: the M91 gets increased close-range damage and aim-down-sights speed; the Holger-26 has an increased damage range and ADS speed; and the FAL gets extra headshot damage (“2 hit at range with 1 headshot,” Infinity Ward say) but reduced near damage (“limbs and lower torso always 3 shot”)....

BUT, I’d argue that it should - even just a teeny weeny bit – be of interest to you. Finally, a raid is coming to a game that isn’t a life investment, and that’s rad.

If you hadn’t heard, Sony are buying Destiny devs Bungie for $3.6 billion. President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment Jim Ryan said that Bungie will “stay an independent and multi-platform studio and publisher”. Give it up for Sony everyone! That’s positive… right? “[Bungie] will operate autonomously within the Sony Interactive Entertainment organisation, and they will continue to publish on other platforms. We get the importance of this. We have grown studios organically, but we’ve also made a number of acquisitions over the years....

Your god Hoochooboo is hungry and apparently needs a bit of fine human cuisine to sate his appetite. If you don’t want to be devoured yourself, you need to hunt and prepare some specific dishes. “Find delicious fruits and vegetables, and combine them with freshly chopped and cooked tourists for a truly divine delicacy fit for the God Hoochooboo,” say developers at Rocket Vulture. It looks like Cannibal Cuisine is a bit more than a second course to Overcooked....

Then I was enlisted into the Siege of Rudhelm. I’d need to stoically defend a fortress with all the moves I’d learned, and I was stressed out. So when the gates opened and I roared my battlecry, naturally, the little I remembered escaped from my mouth and into the breeze. I swung wildly with zero hip-action expecting to get cut down, only to find it worked quite nicely. I even sat down mid-battle and remained unscathed....

Choo-Choo Charles turns a pursuing locomotive into an entire open-world horror game. Also the train has spider legs. Find the trailer below. According to the Steam page, “Charles is a bloodthirsty train, and you need to destroy him.” You do so by traversing the open world in your own train, albeit one confined to tracks. You’ll need to disembark to reroute the trainline or clear a path, putting you in danger each time from the skittering engine Charles....

Here’s the launch trailer for the Airports DLC: I always like the idea that a citybuilder can contain within it a multitude of other business sims. That’s what this looks like. The new airports have a ripple effect on the rest of the city, impacting tourism, industry, and other modes of public transportation. You can build a terminal for freight to come via air, the number of trains will reduce as people choose to fly instead, and you can connect your airport to your city with direct bus and rail links....

You’ll need one of AMD’s new Ryzen 5000 CPUs to take advantage of it, but when you combine them both together, AMD claim you’ll be able to squeeze up to 13% more performance out of your PC as a result, allowing you to get even more out of your system than you would with rival hardware. At first glance, it certainly makes a compelling case to go all-in on AMD hardware for your next PC upgrade, and it might just make those higher-than-expected Ryzen 5000 prices worth the extra bump over Intel’s 10th Gen Comet Lake CPUs....

Made by “skyne0” on Nexus Mods, the work-in-progress WallRun mod does exactly what it says on the tin. It’s not the flashiest parkour you’ll ever see, V just sort of hops up and glides along at a slight angle. It looks as though you can latch onto the wall and run along for a fair amount of time though, and you can get a gun out, which adds to the cool-factor....

Dandara: Trials of Fear will hit Steam “sometime soon”. Already own Dandara? Fab, you’ll get all that new stuff for free. Trials of Fear adds 3 new regions to Dandara’s topsy-turvy world. Additionally, Dandara is getting a new boss (that nightmare-tree in the header), a new ability, a host of quality of life updates and a secret new ending. Granted, I didn’t see the first ending - that big spinning heart boss is a right stubborn git....

The Dead Spaces rumours come from GamesBeat journalist Jeff Grubb, who said EA’s Motive Studio (who made Star Wars: Squadrons and Star Wars Battlefront 2) are working on reviving “an established IP”. His comments suggest it’s something to do with Dead Space, which both Eurogamer and Gemastu have corroborated. It’s all a bit “he said, she said” though, so take it with a pinch of salt. Still, it would be nice to see Dead Space make a return....

Motive say that the core of Dead Space will remain the same, but among the changes coming to Dead Space is “re-injected” lore from the original’s sequels and the comics. Part of this has been giving Isaac a voice, just like in the later games. Some of the secondary characters are also being brought into the game more, in what Motive are calling “narrative side-quests”. Thanks to technology advancing since the original, Motive are now able to turn the Ishimura into a “fully interconnected” ship too....

Every time you buy something from him he tells a piratical tall tale about how he got it in the first place, usually involving a monster in the general taxonomic vicinity of a kraken, and at least one of his former compatriots dying....

For starters, it’s focused entirely on the journey, that of a deliveryman out to mend a shattered America by hooking up its internet and delivering the odd pizza. You potter between outposts, wrestling with balance and footing in a way that has more in common with the limb-sims of Bennett Foddy than the auto-climbing stars of the modern actioners. This alone brings the landscape into dazzling perspective: it’s a game of plotting paths and learning shortcuts....

However, it quickly becomes apparent that there are some items in Deathloop that you need to carry over between loops: for example, if you want to upgrade an ability slab, you need to already have that slab in hand at the start of the loop to pick up the next upgrade. There’s also the matter of Gold weapons, which require you to complete a side-quest to obtain them, something Colt literally doesn’t have time to do every loop....
