This time, Nvidia posted the images over on their official Twitter page rather than their GeForce news blog, simply stating that they were “more GeForce exclusive Cyberpunk 2077 screenshots with #RTXOn”. I’ve embedded all of them below so you too can feast your eyes on this latest batch of ray tracing screens from CD Projekt Red’s upcoming mega RPG, but I have to say I’m surprised that Nvidia haven’t done any of their classic RTX On / RTX Off comparisons to really drive it all home yet....

And the results are… fine, I guess? It didn’t blow me away as much as I thought it would, but hey, at least I made some GIFs so you can see what it looks like yourself. As Alice Bee described earlier in the week, Night City is a place best admired when looking up, and the same holds true for playing the game in ultrawide. Night City is a huge, monstrous place with towering skyscrapers, glaring advert reels that draw your eyes skyward and more crisscrossing highways than a bowl of spaghetti....

Instead, they’re going to focus on developing fundamental technology that will eventually bring multiplayer components to all of their games. This was explained alongside a shift towards “parallel AAA game development”, which will allow them to simultaneously work on both Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher series. The video is 24 minutes long and filled with corporate objectives and values rather than product announcements, but I still found it interesting. It’s effectively one big “we done goofed, here’s how we hope not to goof in future....

This is particularly important in Cyberpunk 2077, because as you may have noticed, constantly picking the highest-stat clothing for V almost always ends up making them look completely ridiculous, and just about as far from “cool” as possible. But with Patch 1.6, CD Projekt Red have added transmog to Cyberpunk 2077, allowing you to keep the stat bonuses of your best weapons while simultaneously displaying your favourite outfits to the inhabitants of Night City....

The Queen And The Sea is currently planned for a release early next year. It’s described as the largest update to Dead Cells yet, and is designed as an ending to the route started by the two previous DLCs (The Bad Seed and Fatal Falls). I think it’s going for more of a The Lighthouse vibe, and not so much The Little Mermaid. You can take a look at the new teaser trailer below....

While that trailer doesn’t have subtitles, the game does. So there Makoto is, waking up in that hotel room, selecting different options as they’re presented, and likely ending up dying a lot, especially given that some ‘orrible person dressed a lot like a kooky killer is loitering. But Makoto’s in a time loop and while he doesn’t remember who he is, he does remember what happens in previous loops, and can use that information in later lives....

It’s also bringing queues, because it’s a big new live service game. Bungie’s dedicated supporter Twitter account tweeted a couple of hours ago to say that, “due to hig player volume, players logging intot he game will be placed in a queue.” That’s pretty normal. A queue is better than not getting into the game at all. “We’re investigating issues where some PC performance optimization apps for graphic cards and fan speed control are causing Destiny 2 to crash,” Bungie wrote in a subsequent tweet....

Since Beyond Light’s release added new Stasis sub-classes to the game, crafty Warlocks have been figuring out how to completely bust the game using their newfound powers of darkness. While unnamed, they were likely behind the decision to postpone this season’s Trials Of Osiris, but it’s only in the last week than folks discovered that five Shadebinder Warlocks effectively one-shot bosses. “Earlier this week, an issue was discovered where Stasis was doing large (and we mean insanely huge) amounts of damage to bosses,” senior community manager Dylan Gafner wrote in today’s This Week At Bungie post....

Twitterer MCU Status shared the details of Hennig’s Marvel project. They’ve had some leaks prove accurate before, as you can see here. MCU Status also claims that Cap and Panther will battle uber-dodgy villain group Hydra. This sounds like a Marvel comics series released a few years ago called Flags Of Our Fathers, which featured the two superheroes meeting during the Big One. Developers seem to be increasingly dipping into the House Of Ideas’ back catalogue for material, such as Firaxis’s delayed tactics RPG Marvel’s Midnight Suns....

The post says that the changes to classes are being made “to expand character build diversity, and retain class fantasy and specialty.” Without drilling down into the specific changes to come, they then talk about the philosophy behind each class revision. The pattern is the same for each description: broadly they think the class is good as-is, but they “see exciting opportunities” to tweak a few variables and make some playstyles easier to do or more useful....

A mobile-first game that’s also coming to PC, Diablo Immortal was revealed to crestfallen fans at Blizzcon 2018 when they were really hoping for Diablo 4. The game is set between the events of Diablo 2 and Diablo 3. It’ll support crossplay between PC and mobile using your Battle.net login. Don’t worry, Blizzard are still working on Diablo 4, although it was delayed last November until 2023 at the earliest....

Parkasaurus, unfortunately, does not follow the rampant escapades of a ten-story jacket. Be well gid though, wouldn’t it? Assuming the name didn’t give it away, Parkasaurus pits you in the chair of Jurassic Park’s John Hammond, overseeing your own prehistoric theme park. Only, Parkasaurus is a whole lot more colourful than Spielberg’s monster island, a Goldbloom-free resort that’s as much about decorating your dinosaurs as it is ensuring they don’t hop a fence and start munching on your visitors....

Due to the continued impact of the pandemic on their work, Frontier say they’ve moved things back by a few months for the PC release so they can maintain realistic deadlines for the team. Alpha testing on PC is planned for early spring. After that, Frontier say they’ve planned Odyssey’s full launch for late spring on PC. Sorry, console players, you’ll be waiting until Autumn. “Much like our original Elite Dangerous release, we will be taking a phased approach to our Alpha, bringing new features and systems online throughout the period,” they say....
