Get the Razer Viper Ultimate + Dock for £47.99 (RRP £169.99) The Viper Ultimate hasn’t left my desk since I first reviewed it back in 2020, and for good reason - it just ticks a lot of boxes. People will come by the shop during the day banging on about their problems, so you need to listen to each customer’s issue, create an appropriate potion to help, and receive a lovely handful of gold in return....

This is the first time AMD’s attached the XT name to their family of Ryzen CPUs, though. There’s been a lot of dubious talk over recent months about how 240Hz gaming monitors are the best gaming monitors you can buy because they can make you better at games, but having played several rounds of Valorant on the C27C2ZU, I can confirm that I’m still as terrible at it as I was on a normal 60Hz monitor. If anything, I’m probably worse at it because playing with the frame rate cranked up to the full 240fps (which is very easy to do thanks to Valorant’s PC requirements being so gosh-darned low) is just too damn quick for my eyes to keep up with what’s happening....

If you leave an Arenas match now before it’s over, you’ll be barred from entering another match for 10 minutes - the same penalty ranked battle royale leavers receive. You’re only punished if you were in a full squad when you left, so if you want to dip out after someone else has already abandoned, you won’t get the timeout (unless you’re in a party with the leaver, but then you should also have a firm word with your game-ditching pal)....
There’s also a mysterious and scary new character with cool robot legs. So many Apex characters have robot legs (granted, two of them are robots). Announced a few days ago, Valkyrie will be flying into Apex with her trusty jetpack, which just so happens to be made out of her old dad’s busted Titan (she’s the daughter of Viper, one of the antagonists in Titanfall 2). In the launch trailer, you can see her flying about freely, shooting rockets and even using a bow and arrow like a hardcore cherub....
But the latest Armored Core 6: Fires Of Rubicon trailer from this year’s Geoff Awards had me in a contemplative mood. “Perhaps”, I thought, “Carpet Man would appreciate FromSoftware’s use of grey”. Even though there isn’t a fuzzy floor surface to be seen, could the trailer have triggered grey’s redemption arc? I’ll be the first to admit that I know nothing about the Armored Core series. Technically, I suppose, I know that the games feature big robots that fight each other, but that’s it....
It also means that Valve have made Artifact, including every card, free for everyone. Valve announced the news earlier this evening in an update on Steam, saying that while they were reasonably satisfied with their progress, “we haven’t managed to get the active player numbers to a level that justifies further development at this time.” The post says that they recognise that both Artifact Classic and Artifact 2.0 still have value to its players, and that’s why they’re going free....
