In their quarterly earnings report, Embracer now say they see “great potential” in leveraging the heck out of that IP with sequels, remakes and more. “The announcement got an overwhelming and positive response,” says the financial report. “We see a great potential, not only in sequels, but also in remakes, remasters, spinoffs as well as transmedia projects across the Group. We expect the transaction to close in the July-September period....

With a name like that I reckon they’ve also got a strong future in rock n’ roll, should this mafia lark not pan out. In new court documents submitted this month by Apple, the app store owners cite Epic’s depositions, detailing just how much they spent last year. “Epic committed $444 million in minimum guarantees for 2020 alone,” Apple say. COVID-19 is known to spread through contact with those already infected with the virus, making large international gatherings like Fanfest a public health concern. According to CCP’s statement, the company are taking action to cancel the event now rather than waiting for the situation to develop further, for better or worse. CCP say in the announcement they wanted to provide this information to attendees as soon as possible to allow people to change or cancel their travel and accommodations....

To be fair, the remake is playable on Valve’s handheld. It’s not outright broken, despite having been so on launch day, with problems ranging from drastic FPS dips to outright hard crashes. Following some impressively fast work from Valve themselves, focusing on hotfixes for SteamOS’ Proton compatibility software, Dead Space’s Deck performance has become more or less manageable. But worthy of the best Steam Deck games? Nope, nein and non....

Army Of Darkness is the third of the original Evil Dead movies. It’s very fun, so go watch it if you haven’t already. The movie, and now the game, takes series protagonist Ash Williams to ye olde medieval times to battle hordes of Deadites. Evil Dead: The Game’s newest map includes the film’s Castle Kandar, Windmill, Arthurian Outpost, Fort Gort and the Castle’s Keep – home to the evil Necronomicon tome....

“Due to Covid-19, we are sadly cancelling Evo 2020 at Mandalay Bay and refunding all purchased tickets,” the organisers said in Friday’s announcement. “But to keep the Evo spirit alive, we’re bringing the event online this summer. More information coming soon!” Evo 2020 was due to run July 31st to August 2nd. While I’ve not played any fighting game much since Mortal Kombat II, I do enjoy Evo. Watching some of the world’s best players compete is a great even if I don’t know the game....

The captain seems like a sound fellow to begin with, but when your ship suddenly gets trapped in the ice and said captain goes missing all of a sudden, it’s your job to take control and try and keep everyone calm, warm, and happy....

The news was shared via Twitter: “Next week, on Thursday 26th January 2023, we will increase the base price of Factorio from $30 to $35,” says the tweet. “This is an adjustment to account for the level of inflation since the Steam release in 2016.” There’s no word on how regional pricing will change. Factorio is currently £25 in the UK, which inflation ought to make around £31 in space year 2023....

Maybe this isn’t a surprise. The version of FFVII Remake coming to PC is the “Intergrade” release created for PlayStation 5, which has extra visual polish and a photo mode. There has been a push to raise the price of games on PlayStation 5 from the previous $60 standard, and the Intergrade edition - and other console exclusives like Returnal - are $70 on the console. So far, however, publishers who sell next-gen console games for $70 have continued to sell the PC versions for $60....

In FixFox you play as Vix, a space mechanic who crashlands on a mysterious planet where tools are forbidden. Accompanied by Tin, your trusty toolbox, you go about fixing machines with unconventional tools, like toothbrushes, glowy bananas, and bottles of apple juice. These repairs seem to be mini-puzzles, where you press buttons and scrub things clean, all with lovely brush and click noises. Hattrick is a quintessentially English anachronism, whose ignorance of the modern game represents my own unfamiliarity with modern Football Manager.
