Starting with the desktop version of the RTX 3060, this will come with 12GB of GDDR6 VRAM, doubling the amount of VRAM available on the RTX 2060. Weirdly, it’s also higher than what you get on both the RTX 3060 Ti and RTX 3070, both of which come with just 8GB of GDDR6 memory. It doesn’t look like there will be an Nvidia Founders Edition of the RTX 3060 when it launches next month - just third party models as pictured above....
Of course, given this is Facebook we’re talking about here, a thumbs up could just mean that he ’liked’ the idea of 120Hz support rather than giving a non-verbal confirmation that it’s definitely coming. In all likelihood, though, it probably means the Oculus Quest 2 is getting 120Hz support, especially given Oculus recently updated the virtual reality headset to support a 90Hz refresh rate back in November last year. When the headset originally launched in October 2020, its refresh rate was limited to just 72Hz....
Building on the work laid down by Oculus Link, which let you play PC VR games like Half-Life: Alyx on the Quest by connecting it over USB, Oculus Air Link will stream games to the headset using your home’s Wi-Fi network. This method of playing PC VR games was technically already an option for those who purchased the expensive Virtual Desktop app on the Quest 2, but now Quest 2 owners will be able to do so for free without the need for third party software....

Wrath Of The Righteous, much like predecessor Pathfinder: Kingmaker from 2018, is an RPG. Specifically, the kind it’s most pragmatic to describe as “a bit like Baldur’s Gate 2”: a high-fidelity recreation of a tabletop RPG system, viewed from a top-down-ish perspective, and involving party management, hybrid turn-based/real-time combat, and absolute truckloads of dialogue. I’ll be upfront about it too, and say that if you - like me - loved Baldur’s Gate 2 to bits, you should be playing this game....
So, Pegglefights. In battle, damage you deal is determined by how many pegs and tiles you hit as you pling an orb down the pachinko board. Scattered across the board are a few crit pegs (which boost your damage), bomb pegs (which explode and damage to all foes after taking two hits) and refresh pegs (refilling the board). Enemies move towards you across the battlefield each turn, with some needing to get into melee range, and some bosses doing terrible things to you up close....

Here’s a brief trailer, but basically this view is the entire game: It is possible to play offline, in which case the sword will have a fixed length and weight, but the online mode is where real achievement lies. Pulling the sword out will alert everyone else playing that you have been crowned king and add your name to a list of the 100 most recent kings. I just had a go, playing the game for 15 minutes, and I’d wager that the sword moved around 8 inches....
In fairness to Under The Waves, Parallel Studio and Quantic Dream have also partnered with non-profit organisation Surfrider Foundation Europe to incorporate themes of ocean conservation into the game as well, putting me in the mind of E-Line’s ocean exploration game, Beyond Blue. There will be “subtle messages” promoting the protection of lakes, rivers, oceans and coastlines mixed into the game, according to the devs, and Quantic Dream are also set to make a donation to the organisation as well....

Ratropolis is also a roguelite tower defense citybuilding deckbuilding real-time strategy game, though. I’ve never met a housemate who can say the same. From a side-on perspective, you drop cards to place buildings - turrets, resource gatherers, and more - and then defend yourself against waves of oncoming enemies. The systems click together in neat ways, as the buildings you construct give you access to new cards, card upgrades, and so on....

Riders Republic is an arcade racing game which evokes enough of cycling to be delightful in a way the official Tour De France game isn’t. The hum of your tyres and the whirr of your drivetrain, all throbbing slightly as effort shifts across each pedal stroke. Your view wobbling and jostling. The shudder when a corner is a little tight. The sound of tyre biting into terrain on turns. Little creaks and rattles from components....
This isn’t the first time Riot have had to make changes like this to cut back toxicity. Heck, they started recording voice chat in Valorant this year to try to tackle hate speech. With League, Riot say verbal abuse has been a rising problem this year, and they’re working on a number of changes to address it. The first of these is ditching /all chat in the 11.21 patch that should go live later this month....
Fortiche are best known for Arcane, the unexpectedly good Netflix series which tells the origins of several League wizards. They’ve been working together for years, first partnering for trailers and music videos. They’ve done the videos for Imagine Dragons’ Warriors, the best League song, and K/DA’s Pop/Stars, the other best League song, as well as Enemy and others. Now, Riot have invested an unspecified chunk of cash in Fortchie and thereby gained “significant non-controlling stake”....
