Devs Player First Games reworked MultiVersus’ battle pass for Season 2, adding rewards to every tier. They also adjusted the number of points in each tier so the battle pass feels, in their words, “both engaging and rewarding”. The XP required for each tier now roughly doubles every ten levels. Although some players seem happy enough to work through the pass over the three months Season 2 is expected to last, others took to the MultiVersus subreddit to express regret at forking out for it....

Wrath Of The Righteous is set in an area known as the Worldwound, which is overrun by demons from the Abyss. You set about fighting back the beasties, and flexibility comes from the different types of characters you can create and the different paths - hey - you can find towards that goal. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was delayed until this month back in January, before the war understandably delayed the game further into 2023. GSC have reiterated throughout the year that work was continuing, with at least some staff relocating to the Czech Republic. Like the hugely ambitious (and also much delayed) original, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is an open-world survival game set within the nuclear exclusion zone formed around the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. It’s being powered by Unreal Engine 5, apparently features a non-linear story, and it’ll come to Xbox Game Pass on day one....

It’s a shame, because reading up on Outpost before I started playing, I found about one promising thing every six and a half seconds. A cute little free-to-play top-down survival game, with pared-back resource gathering and tower defence elements, set in a pretty low-poly procedural world filled with angry nocturnal chickens? There’s not a single word of this that doesn’t appeal to me. So where does it all fall apart?...

The leaked footage mainly features a lot of characters running around in low-poly environments and some brief looks at combat against its familiar mechanical enemies. Rocket Arena is EA’s upcoming rocket-jumping multiplayer shooter, a sort of Super Smash Bros with rocket launchers with roots all the way back in the Quake modding scene. I think, at least. Sin gave it a proper hands-on last month. While that early build had some frustrating balance problems, the ebb and flow of chasing folks down for knock-out final blow seemed a right blast (sorry). To help hunt collectables, players can now buy the Otto-Spot filter for the psychic camera after finishing the main story. It’ll run you 75 Psitanium at the vending machines. Then whip out the camera, switch to the filter, and it’ll highlight nearby collectables. Figments can even be seen through some of the environment. “This will help in particular with some rather famous Figments, including this banana, which I apologise for,” lead designer Seth Marinello said in the update video, highlighting a particularly tricky berry blending in with a palm tree....

Developed by Sundae Month (the folks who made Diaries Of A Spaceport Janitor), Pupperazzi looks a lot like what you’d get if Nintendogs merged with Pokémon Snap - a very nice combo indeed. You basically play as a walking camera who’s given tasks to take pics of specific pups. Or you can just wander around and play with them if you like. I feel like I’d find it quite easy to forget about the camera part....

Extraction owners will be able to send up to two Buddy Pass tokens to friends. The game will have crossplay, so they can be on any platform too. Once they accept the invite, they’ll have access to the game as long as they’re in a squad with you. I’m glad Ubi are doing this. I’m really interested in playing Extraction, but I know some of my mates are skeptical. This way, they at least get to try it with me without committing any cash to it....
