These are just a few of the many things big developers are doing - one studio even sent their home-working employees care packages, complete with pastries and roll of toilet paper. To start with, GTA creators Rockstar tweeted earlier this week to let fans know that while they weren’t in full working from home mode just yet, they have started rolling it out across the company. EA made a blog post explaining the company have put restrictions on any unnecessary travel for all their staff, and are recommending that all employees work from home until at least April 1st....

Silksong will send Hornet to explore a new kingdom, squish news bugs, uncover new secrets, use new weapons and moves, and doubtless uncovering harrowing new secrets. The developers, Team Cherry announced Silksong in 2019 but we’ve seen only scraps since them. Fans have been getting weird about it....

How to unlock Reaper in FFXIV: Endwalker To unlock Reaper in Final Fantasy XIV, first you’ll need to have a copy of the Endwalker expansion - you won’t be able to play as a Reaper on the Trial version of the game or if you only have earlier expansions. The bad news is that only 3700 HyperX x Ducky One 2 Mini keyboards are being produced for this limited edition run, and they’ve already sold-out on HyperX’s online shop. Still, here’s hoping that this will be the start of more HyperX and Ducky collaborations, as I’d love to see bigger, full-sized keyboards with this combination of parts as well. While another FPS of the “micro” variety would be grand, I’d love a “microracer”. Much in the same vein as my beloved Screamer, I’m desperate for a – linear or otherwise – arcade racer whose only concern is to burn rubber through all manner of world stages.

I like this moment. An air of reverence, holyness, calm, and peace with gentle wildlife before you pick up the knife and suddenly you’re swarmed by undead skeletal horrors. A nice contrast. And an opportunity to be a prick, I guess. While I am far too good, moral, respectable, and admirable a person to chase real birds, I cannot resist doing it in video games. Last night I tuned into the latest season of My Hero Academia, an anime that I’ve followed for several years now. I was excited to see my favourite characters again, but also for a new opener. And its explosion of noise and colour didn’t disappoint, so much so, that it got me thinking: I wish this was a thing in video games.

Especially since… well, I wasn’t overly glowing about the Core i5-13600K when I reviewed it. But that was ultimately because I didn’t feel the higher price reflected its performance gains over the Core i5-12600K, which are more keenly felt in desktop multitasking than in gaming. To cut away the price is to cut away the underlying issue with Raptor Lake, making these chips much, much better buys in the process....

This month’s game is Spacebots, a, uh, space game about building things - only this time you do it using programmable robots. Left to their own devices, all programmers will eventually try to create a game about programming. Oh, and it’s named Kingdoms Of Amalur: Re-Reckoning, because of course it is. The listing says the game will have “improved graphical fidelity” and “refined gameplay”, which is really just a lot of fancy words to say “it will look and play better”. Re-Reckoning will also include all the DLCs from the original release, so you’ll be able to explore the likes of The Legend Of Dead Kel and Teeth Of Naros with all that new graphical goodness....

It’s not yet clear what role Lady D’s castle has to play in Rose’s journey, but man, it sure is nice to be back roaming its ornate hallways again. Or rather it would be, if it weren’t for all the ashen mold men stalking its corridors, and its rather gross (but strangely hypnotic) rivers of undulating strawberry jam gore that have been plastered all over the walls, floor and ceiling....
