Lightyear Frontier Looks Like Stardew Valley With Mechs

The game was announced with a trailer during tonight’s ID@Xbox indie game stream, and you can find it below. Aside from open-world farming, the game’s announcement promises “a mystery-driven narrative” as you explore the alien planet on which it’s set. You’re not farming traditional crops, see, but “cosmic resources” that you can harvest to improve your mech so you can use it to “explore previously inaccessible environments.” Or maybe you are farming traditional crops but your mech is made out of hemp....

Looks Like Pets Are On The Way To Fallout 76

“Now that we have our companions system in the game, we are looking to add pets as well,” said project lead, Jeff Gardiner. So I may have jumped the gun assuming these pets are going to be dogs, but come on, it’s Fallout. There has to be dogs. Pets aren’t the only notable thing to come from the Q&A, though. When asked if we’d ever see story DLC about Fallout’s old factions, the Enclave and the Brotherhood Of Steel, Gardiner teased: “Let’s just say the Brotherhood is now watching the wasteland of West Virginia very closely…” There’s also a new Mole Miner NPC scheduled to arrive in the May update, plans to introduce Perk loadouts, and a kind of “looking for group” feature coming this summer as well....

Marvel S Spider Man Remastered Review A Fun Hero Epic That Takes The Wall Crawler To New Heights

You know Spider-Man. He’s a dude named Peter Parker who was bitten by a radioactive spider and can now climb up walls and punch criminals really well. Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered lets you roleplay being Spidey against the backdrop of a big, living New York city. It is, if you’ll excuse the pun, amazing. Now, is it the best Spidey game? Nah. I reckon that’s its spin-off/sequel Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, but that’s not on PC yet....

Mass Effect Remaster Mod Lets You Use Console Commands

Enable In-Game Console is a mod made by “Mgamerz” on Nexus Mods, which does exactly what it says on the tin. An in-game console essentially lets you cheat in small ways by typing in a code: not got enough Paragon points to pass a check? Add a few more! Struggling fighting some tough enemies? Beef up your abilities with a bit of extra XP. Need some extra credits to buy a snazzy gun?...

Meet The Developer Who Designed Assassin S Creed Valhalla S Fictional Isu Language

This was exactly the case with the folks who recently figured out Isu, a fictional language in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla used by an ancient race of human-like beings. Watching their video on exactly how they managed to translate some Isu texts was incredibly impressive, but it got me wondering, who went to all that effort to make it in the first place? The answer is Antoine Henry, associate director at Ubisoft Singapore....

Microsoft Flight Sim Mistook Buckingham Palace For A Block Of Flats

Taking a flight through Flight Sim’s facsimile of London, the BBC discovered a few notable oddities - including the radical act of replacing the Queen’s 775-room residence into a massive block of (presumably) affordable housing. Microsoft Flight Simulator Gets Halo S Pelican

The Pelican is available to download now for free from Flight Sim’s in-game marketplace. Yes, it really can hover and strafe about. Makes boosty noises and flaps its arms and legs and blasts flame and everything. Looks very fancy. The big ‘40th Anniversary Edition’ update will follow in November. Exact contents are a secret for now, but they’ve revealed a little. Along with re-introducing “some classic airports” they’ll add more aircraft, including some familiar faces (well, they would have faces if they were in Jimbo And The Jet-Set)....

More Skate Playtest Footage Has Ollied Its Way Online

Parzalai said that this leaked build of skate. “has not changed much, with some bug fixes, smoother riding and more arcadey grinds”. Around two and a half minutes of skating has been captured from the build. It also shows some of the game’s menus, including a decent look at the map, character customisation, and store options such as crafting, ready-to-use items, blueprints and swag bags. There’s also quite a lot of forward rolls without a board, for some reason....

Mr Bean Visits Cyberpunk 2077 In A Great Video Edit

That’s the latest work from “eli_handle_b․wav”, who has also smooshed American Psycho’s Patrick Bateman into Fallout 4, Breaking Bad’s Walter White into Half-Life 2, and more. One argument is that Mr Bean would be mugged and murdered within five minutes of arriving in Night City, the eternal clueless tourist who would happily comply with the local Wallet Inspector. I see why you might say that, but I would point out to you that Mr Bean is a chaos god....

Neo The World Ends With You Is Coming To Pc Too

Like the first game, Neo is weird gangs taking part in a supernatural competition in Tokyo’s Shibuya district, the Reaper’s Game. You beat stuff up. I had the first recommended pretty often when I got a DS, though never did get around to it myself. Thoughts, gang? Honestly, I’m a sucker for anything with weird and colourful gangs. Apparently we play as RINDO, leader of the WICKED TWISTERS. Shibuya’s known for its youth culture and fashion (and that bustling crossing) so yes, loud subcultures and outfits please....

Netflix Confirms The Witcher Season 3

The new trailer for The Witcher’s second season is the one right down here. It’s a bit of a mashup of season one recap and clips from season two, mind. Geralt and Ciri make their way to witcher base Kaer Morhen. Yennefer has been taken captive by the Nilfgaardians. Jaskier is mostly unseen apart from one very quick shot of him rather disheveled and screaming. You also get a quick look at Kim Bodnia as a somewhat better kempt version of Vesemir than you’ll remember from CD Projekt Red’s adaptation....

New Funomena Report Charts Downfall Amid Abuse Allegations

In March, YouTube channel People Make Games investigated three indie developers accused of mismanagement and abuse. One of those developers was Robin Hunicke, co-founder of Funomena. Prior to the video’s release, Fanbyte report that Hunicke warned staff that the information in it was exaggerated, old and not reflective of the current state of the studio - a dismissal that allegedly upset staff. The response the day following the video’s release was worse, with Funomena staff called to an all-hands meeting and told that they’d all be let go the following week if the studio couldn’t secure immediate funding....

New Physics Puzzler Lego Bricktales Has Awoken My Inner Child

The premise is your grandfather, who just happens to own an amusement park, needs your help getting all the health and safety requirements above board. Because of some complicated Lego lore reasons, the only way to save the park is by helping people all around the world. How do you do that? By building increasingly complex contraptions of course. You can check out the trailer below: You’ll be globe trotting across five different biomes on your journey: gorgeous jungles, sun-soaked deserts, a busy city, a medieval castle and some tropical islands, all of which have been realised as extremely cute tiny dioramas made of Lego....

New World Opens New Servers Plans To Enlarge Servers

“Our main priority is resolving long queues,” they said on Twitter last night. As well as opening new worlds to help, they say they “are performing tests to increase the capacity for all worlds.” They also plan to offer free server transfers to let people move around once things settle. One tool which might help you pick servers is New World Status, an unofficial website made by fans which roughly tracks server populations, queue lengths, and estimated queue times....

New World Review In Progress A Fresh Swashbuckling Mmo That S Still Very Grindy Early On

The world of Aeternum is a sort of pirate-themed, fantasy-adjacent place that you wouldn’t be surprised to see as an area of a theme park, and straight away you discover that you’re far from the first person to arrive. This is always the funny bit of MMORPGs: an NPC with an English regional accent telling you that you’re the only one who can help, while dozens of other versions of you solemnly crab-crawl up and down a flight of stairs two feet away....

Oculus Quest Review A Better Buy Than The Oculus Rift S

However, thanks to the recent beta release of Oculus Link, you can in fact use your Quest to play Oculus Rift games now, as well as every other type of PC VR game that was previously out of reach. You’ll need to sacrifice its wireless capabilities and plug it into your PC via a high-speed USB-C to USB-A cable in order to do so, but it definitely beats buying a whole new headset just to play the hot new VR game on Steam, for example, such as Half-Life: Alyx....
