Here’s the trailer for the expansion, Heroes Of The Aegean: The expansion features six scenarios from Ancient Greece in which you can control leaders like Leonidas and Alexander The Great. It’ll launch on May 19th, alongside full Linux support for the base game and localisation in a bunch of new languages. If you’ve not played the base game yet, you’re seemingly in for a treat. Soren Johnson is perhaps still best known as the lead designer of Civilization IV, and Old World is his return to that genre, armed with a decade of influence from Paradox grand strategy games....

Crossplay is great, and I’m glad Overwatch finally has it. It’s a little too late for me to actually use it, unfortunately. I used to play Overwatch on PS4 and switched over to PC three years ago so I could actually play with my pals. If only the crossplay revolution had started earlier. If you’re not familiar with Trials Of Mana, it’s got a very familiar JRPG plot. The world has gone to heck because some long-ago goddess locked a bunch of baddies away with some mana stones and then proceeded to turn herself into a tree. Now there are more baddies that have gotten too big for their britches trying to jailbreak the sealed away evil and also mana is disappearing from the world....

Even with all those extra flourishes, though, the Director’s Cut was still the same QUBE puzzles from before, leading many to write off the update yet again as a slight improvement on the original, but nothing to get too excited about. Now, QUBE is getting a fancy 10th Anniversary Edition that rebuilds both versions of the game from the ground up, while also adding an entirely new sector that doubles the length of the game....

Rage 2 leaned into the open-world aspects of the first, with a big and weird wasteland housing sidequests aplenty. The sequel gave us superhero powers too. Vidbud Matthew quite liked parts of it, for one: As did Matt Cox in our written Rage 2 review, also with some reservations. “The parts I like far outweigh the parts I don’t,” he said. “I’ve got my weirdo NPCs, my Ark hunting, my Whoopinkoffs and Dimbledicks....

Downpour incorporates content from More Slugcats, which was originally to be a massive mod. It expands the world a massive amount, with ten regions spread across thousands of screens, including new hazardous weather conditions. Because life as a slugcat wasn’t hard enough already. Five new playable species of slugcat are adapted to this expanded world, including the aquatic Rivulet which can breathe underwater, the mouthless Spearmaster which pulls needles from its body to fight and feed, and the Saint with a long prehensile tongue....

Whether out of genuine concern or taking advantage of a house-bound community, Blizzard are encouraging World of Warcraft players to remain logged in with a month-long double XP bonus. From now ’til April 20th, Battle for Azeroth players will see every experience point gained double through a new “Winds of Wisdom” buff - along with all starter edition players, and paid subscribers who haven’t yet picked up the latest expansion....

Revita is a twin-stick action roguelike in which you ascend a clocktower “in pursuit of lost memories”. What this really means is that you blast away at various odd-looking enemies, re-emerge at the bottom of the tower after each death, and unlock new abilities via shrines and strange characters you meet along the way. The feature list sounds like a fairly typical mix for the genre, including procedurally generated levels....

For example, this week saw the release of Yayo’s Rim 3D via the Steam Workshop. It’s a mod that lets you press a button to view your RimWorld camp in 3D. Come watch a video of it below. Here’s a video from Yayo, the mod’s creator: To be clear, it’s not like every item in RimWorld has been suddenly replaced by a 3D model. Instead, the mod looks more like an early ’90s first-person shooter, with a 3D world where the objects within it are angled 2D sprites....

Sylvester announced the launch of the ‘unstable’ beta today. “This update will be released to the default branch soon,” he explained, just after a little testing. “We’ve placed it on the unstable branch now to get in some final testing, and to smooth out the transition for mods.” Changes which caught my eye include: The gaggle of livestock come from a mod, Oskar Potocki’s Vanilla Animals, which is now being officially rolled into the main game....

It is the year 2030, and the humans of earth have become obsessed with a dangerous new sport. The Rollerdrome championship sees roller skaters facing off against hordes of chumps in colourful death parks, all televised by a profit-obsessed corp. As a newcomer to the championship, Kara Hasan, your task is to stay alive and look rad. And rad you shall look. This game was first spotted in the wild years ago as a bunch of killer GIFs from an independent developer that made everyone stop scrolling, droop their eyes with with surfer dude reverence, and say: “sweet”....
