Rockstar added peyote in October 2019 but it was only for a special occasion, disabled after a fortnight. Now it’s back for another week, until Monday, April 13th. They are: great fun. 76 peyote plants are planted in fixed spots around the land (and sea), and using them will transform you into a random animal until you die. I particularly like how the cat completes a stretch before getting up: I’ve been a wee Westie, a pig, a deer, a pigeon, a cormorant, a cougar, a shark, a stingray, Franklin’s dog Chop, a poodle with a very ugly shave… loads of critters....

Not much has been revealed about what’s in store in this year’s Guerrilla Collective Showcase, but the announcement tweet promises “exclusives and game reveals”. That’ll be some video and computer games for you to watch, then. And as the name of the game suggests, each enjoyed access not only to the standard Sword Bastards and such one might expect from history, but also honking great monsters of various kinds, from Leviathans at sea to Sphinxes, Cyclopses and all the rest you can think of. There were God Powers you could use as well, which were essentially magical spells to conjure special beastuses, or put area-of-effect stuff onto the map....

As a massive Hellboy fan, I’m very up for Web Of Wyrd just from the look of it alone. Hellboy creator Mike Mignola has a very distinctive art style, which Upstream Arcade seem to have done an admirable job capturing from the short burst of action shown in tonight’s trailer. The throwdown Hellboy has with the giant wolf is pretty comics accurate too, and I got a kick out of the bit where he’s knocked backwards through the wall by the monster’s blow....

In a post on the CDPR forums, Vinthir explains the situation. “Updating a game means that we change various files, so the mods that modify those exact files stop working. If we want to change things in the game or add stuff, it cannot be avoided, and our teams have to focus on making updates as good as possible, not minimising change.” In short, CD Projekt isn’t making special allowances for any existing mods....

HitFlesh is “a single-player narrative game about a weird and old MMORPG which was put back online,” say developers Virtual Archaeologist. “Explore and discover the uncanny legend that this game has inside.” It certainly smells of MMO nostalgia down here in the first half of its trailer—that vaguely fantasy soundtrack tune and font. Without any further ado, here’s the new NPC in question: Fans had to figure out a series of riddles which in turn revealed a password to a protected zip file. The password was “huntress” so it’s likely that’s the name of the character we’re looking at here. It wasn’t just an image and a gif we were treated to, however.
