Developed by Gust, the Atelier games follow various characters on alchemy-based adventures. The first Atelier Sophie game, The Alchemist Of The Mysterious Book, originally came out in 2015 before coming to PC in 2017. The Mysterious Dream will be the 23rd (!) game in the Atelier series. Atelier Sophie 2 will have you exploring a dream world, searching for your pal, whipping up items with your sick alchemy skills, and fighting all sorts of beasties in turn-based combat....

It’s hosted by Video Game History Foundation founder Frank Cifaldi there, who you might know from his work on preservations/celebrations like the Mega Man Legacy Collection. Yes, the sound does start quiet but it picks up. The stream goes hard on cut content, early concepts, and a few parts they’ve managed to actually restore. Helpfully, they show and explain a whole lot in a blog post, if you’d rather not go through two hours of video....

Okay, maybe that’s just my bad decisions talking. You’re stranded on a wrecked space station after a failed pirate attack, and must get back to your ship. It’s not super secret, but I almost don’t want to say more than that, because this is a game overflowing with possibilities in a way that even Fallout seldom matched. It is not quite ready, but if the bugs can be ironed out, and perhaps more crucially, the save system reorganised, this could easily become one of the best RPGs of its kind....

Norco takes place in a surreal sci-fi version of near-future greater New Orleans, while echoing the Southern Gothic literary style as much as something like Kentucky Route Zero does. It goes as far as to get its name from the actual real-life town of Norco. You can check out the trailer below: In Norco your mother has passed away, and your brother Blake suddenly went missing shortly afterwards. In order to track him down, you have to tag along with a fugitive security android as the two of you go through all sorts of picturesque-yet-rundown locations, like refineries, strip malls and various other industrial swamps....

Specifically, the laptops going on sale today will have one of the two entry-level ‘Arc 3’ models in the range, the Arc A350M and the Arc A370M. The latter was shown running above 60fps at 1080p in various games, including Hitman 3, Apex Legends, and Genshin Impact. It cracked 115fps in Valorant, too. The more powerful GPUs, from the Arc 5 and Arc 7 families, are set to launch this summer; we can expect these to come closer to beefier rival mobile chips like the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 and AMD Radeon RX 6800S....

I should note that the G733 Wireless is also available in blue, black and white should you prefer something a bit more traditional, but even its plainer colour schemes manage to retain some of that mad 90s energy thanks to their multi-coloured headbands. There’s also a thin strip of RGB lighting down the front of each ear cup to complete its nostalgic, neon-fluoro look, although you can turn this off (and add another nine hours onto its default 20 hour battery life in the process) using Logitech’s easy to use G Hub software....

Lost In Random has you play as a little girl called Even, whose sister Odd has been taken away by the evil queen of Random, the kingdom where you live. You, along with your sentient die companion Dicey, must journey from your hovel in Onecroft all the way up to the queen’s castle in Sixtopia to save Odd. It’s a premise that hooks you in immediately, and I was desperate to find out what had become of my poor sibling....

Relevant for PC players are the dates August 14th and August 21st. On the 14th, PC players who have pre-ordered the new Avengers adventure will have access to the beta. August 21st will kick off an open beta for players across all platforms. “We built the beta in such a way that you can experience most of things that you’ll be doing in the full game,” creative director Shaun Escayg tells IGN....

“Yes, because heat” is probably the answer, as when you’ve got as many processor cores as the RTX 3090 Ti, running at such high clock speeds as the RTX 3090 Ti, and with as much memory as the RTX 3090 Ti, it’s a bad idea to try building an RTX 3090 Ti that’s the size of a postage stamp. But the best graphics cards aren’t huge as a rule, and when it’s got to the point where new GPUs can’t easily fit into a standard mid-tower PC case, it might be time for some course correction....

I should probably take the opportunity to apologise for suggesting the new skins be called Pugh, Pugh, Barney McGrew, Cuthbert, Dibble, Grub, and Gandalf when they were first revealed at Minecraft Live back in October. At that point I wasn’t sure what the names were going to be, but they’re a lot better than my derivative ideas. If you want to choose any of the new skins then you just have to head into Minecraft’s Dressing Room to pick your look....

The job listing for senior multiplayer designer mentions co-op and PvE settings, a variety of game modes, “class design,” and “social activities.” It’s hard to speculate so early on, but I wouldn’t be opposed to hanging out in Kaer Morhen - or any of the other Witcher schools - in between missions. Although, my fondness for Gwent might turn into a compulsion if you let me play it with friends....

Dominions Of Dust chucks in a “sparsely inhabited and dangerous borderland” to the southwest of Morrowind’s island of Vvardfenfell. That’s being fought over by the great houses of Hlaalu and Redoran, although the Hlaalu do have tight hold of a large trading port on the Inner Sea called Andothren. The Embers Of Empire expansion, on the other hand, overhauls the western parts of the Telvanni peninsula that’s east of Vvardenfell....

But now the sequel My Time At Sandrock is launching into early access on May 26th, bringing a whole new region to restore. Sandrock may look more traditionally post-apocalyptic, being as it is a sandy outback populated by cowboys, but it’s still got a helping-hands community feel at its core, plus an interesting eco-friendly angle and an all-new multiplayer mode. But its origins were much more modest. As Pathea Games’ executive producer Zifei Wu tells me, Sandrock originally began life as a My Time At Portia DLC pack....

Necrobarista is primarily a linear visual novel; aside from unlocking side stories during intermissions between chapters, you don’t have a lot of control over the plot. It opens in media res, on a ritual undertaken by the necrobarista herself, Maddy. It’s a stylish introduction to the world (and its incredibly cool music), before we cut back to a few days earlier. The Terminal café has a new patron, the recently deceased Kishan, and Maddy lays down the rules: 24 hours to adjust to being dead, and then onto the next thing, whatever that may be....

These are the single best-priced DDR5 deals that I’ve found for the UK and US crowds respectively, excluding any where the RAM modules themselves gave me bad vibes or were – yeurgh – single channel. For us Brits, there’s the Kingston Fury Beast 16GB kit in its non-RGB design, while in the States, there’s $10 off TeamGroup’s T-Force Vulcan 16GB kit. I know that’s not as big a name in memory as Kingston, but I’ve used Vulcan RAM myself and it’s fine....

The developers briefly thought they’d fixed the issue and dealt with the characters stuck in this state. But as players continued to transfer over the last couple of days, it seems it’s become a larger ongoing problem. So, they’ve paused character transfers for now, and will turn them back on when they’ve fixed the exploit. Character transfers were added to New World to help with long queue times in the popular MMO....

Where to find Saltpeter in New World Fortunately, it’s easy to predict where Saltpeter is going to spawn in New World. Unlike some other resources, Saltpeter isn’t native to any particular region of the map. Instead, Saltpeter Ore nodes spawn in caves across Aeternum. Caves in New World tend to cluster around the coast, as you might expect, but you can find them inland as well, particularly at higher elevations (which show up on the map as dark brown terrain)....

While Finck is obviously well-known for being in the band Nine Inch Nails, this isn’t his first foray into games. He previously worked on the score for No Code’s space thriller Observation, as well as C3SK’s spooky shooter NOCT. This isn’t Davis’ horror debut either. Before getting involved with Spec Ops: The Line, he had worked on the spooky FEAR and Condemned games. More recently, he directed the 2016 PlayStation VR game Here They Lie....

“I only know one thing: I want to kill Chaos,” your man Jack says. “I need to. It’s not a hope or a dream, it’s like a hunger, a thirst.” Then he sets about grunting, shouting, and stabbing. Squeenix say it’s set in a “dark fantasy world” with “an array of iconic monsters from the Final Fantasy series” as well as classic jobs like warrior, dragoon, and black mage. No idea what to make of it from the trailer, but Team Ninja do make good stabbing games so I am interested....

No reason was given for the low stock levels of Nvidia’s next-gen graphics cards, but a separate source has apparently told Tweaktown that it could have something to do with Samsung’s 8nm yields, which form the basis of Nvidia’s RTX 3000 series GPUs. When hardware manufacturers make their big silicon wafers, for example, there’s always a certain percentage of them that aren’t fit for their intended final product. They either fail internal tests or just aren’t up to snuff to sell them as the thing they were intended for....
