In a blog post, the devs say they’ll do their best to bring an update to Genshin Impact once every six weeks, and each update will come with “its own themed activities”. The first update is expected to arrive on November 11th. That one will usher in the Unreconciled Stars event, though they haven’t said what that event will actually involve. Mihoyo estimates that update two, the one that brings in Dragonspine and its linked event, will drop on December 23rd....

Orwell’s book is a satire of Stalinist Russia, about farm animals who overthrow the farmer, declare equality, run the farm themselves, and slowly slide into violent, decadent, and authoritarian regime. Today’s announcement explains that we’ll be trying to “balance resources, defend the farm, and keep the animal population happy” by following or ignoring the desires of different animals. Which sounds like it’ll have different outcomes, so maybe there’s hope for old Boxer yet....

Gotham Knights is an action RPG set in – surprise, surprise – Gotham City, the former home of Batman who’s not there anymore because he’s upped and died at the hands of a supervillain. This leaves the daily chores to the Batman Family, a foursome dubbed “The Gotham Knights”, who must wrest control back from a city that’s taken advantage of Batman’s sudden disappearance. The Knights are as follows: Red Hood, a large man with extremely defined forearms; Night Wing, who looks like Robert Pattinson’s Batman; Robin, a bit of a dweeb; Batgirl, gets a point for not being another dude of a slightly different stature....

Gamepur recently spoke with game director Adam Brennecke. There were no huge revelations, which isn’t surprising at this early stage. The news I’m excited about is that there will be bees (BEES), although there’s no date for that yet. I can wait. They won’t be alone in the sky either, as they’ll be joined by mosquitoes to begin with, and more flying bugs later: Hostile, or at least destructive flying thingies are conspicuous by their absence at the moment, but could become a bit of a nightmare....

CDPR chatted with Ian Games Network about Rogue Mage, which is building on the core gameplay of the multiplayer Gwent game released in 2018. “While Gwent multiplayer is a fantastic game for those who are looking for a great PvP multiplayer experience,” game director Vladimir Tortsov said, “we perfectly understand that many Witcher players loved the original mini-game of Gwent for totally different reasons. With Rogue Mage we aim to give this audience a reason to play modern-day Gwent in the format they prefer....

Cross-play was confirmed back during Hades’ stunning 1.0 launch trailer, letting folks bring their battered PC early access saves to Switch on release. Sadly, it seems that particular feature will lurk in the underworld a little while longer. “We recently announced we’re working on cross-saves for Hades, which will let our early access players transfer their save data to the Nintendo Switch version of the game,” Supergiant tweeted out yesterday....

Thankfully, as you explore the strange Snaktooth Island and begin meeting the Grumpuses who inhabit the place, it becomes abundantly clear the vibes are going to be solid. It’s a lovely little game that has you figuring out how to bring the town back into harmony, and discovering the mystery of the island and of the food-based creatures that are bugsnax. The snax themselves are what I’m here for. I love them all....

Like a more po-faced Hitman, Ground Zeroes lets you figure out your approach, rather than directing you down a set path. At the beginning of the mission you know what you have to do, and where you have to do it, but how you get in there and complete your task is up to you....

Why did I decide Painkiller would be the first game I played on my handheld PC? For the same reason I bought it in the first place, I suppose: I have no fucking clue mate. My guess is that it appeared to be a throwaway shooter from the mid-00s that had yet to be tested on the Deck by Valve themselves, something I found tantalising as a fresh-faced Deck owner....

The original Street Fighter IV was seen as a revival of a dying genre back in 2009. To entice people back the original roster had almost all of the original Super Street Fighter II fighters, along with a handful of new faces. All of this helped retain a familiar feel, despite the visual changes and new moves that each character could use. On the whole, it resonated with the fighting game community and became the marquee game of Evolution tournaments (or EVO as it’s more commonly known) for years....
