If you’re not familiar with Nioh and its sequel, they pretty comfortably fit the “souls-like” label though they do have their own twists. There’s Amrita (souls) that your earn from killing enemies and drop on the ground if you die, at which point you’re resurrected at the checkpoint shrines (bonfires). There’s swords. There’s dodging. There’s biggo bosses. It’s good fun and I quite liked the original. There are a couple new bits in Nioh 2....
One player by the name of poslepoludyna couldn’t beat the final boss on Way of the Demon difficulty (the equivalent of New Game+ 2). They were underlevelled and desperate for a way out. So, they summoned three cats to fight alongside them and, well, absolutely crushed the boss, “like it was nothing”. You can see the brave felines in action for yourself down below. Spoiler warning! In Nioh 2, there’s an item called the “Clay Bell of Reckoning”....

Watching all the creatures roam around in NMS was one of the main reasons I ever bothered loading the game up, and now they can come on adventures with me! I’m absolutely delighted. Any of the game’s peculiar animals can be tamed and adopted - you just need to play with them, feed them and give them plenty of attention. Once they become your best pal, you can summon them wherever you want....

How to interrupt in Outriders In Outriders, certain enemies will attempt to cast abilities while fighting you. If you can interrupt them while they are charging their ability, then the ability won’t be released. You can tell an enemy is charging an ability because a progress bar will appear next to their health bar with the ability name in the bar. To interrupt an attack in Outriders, you have to hit the enemy with an attack or ability that has the Interrupt keyword....
Assuming you’re all on the same wavelength, that is. Your pals ought to know better than to plop down a bloody Ferris Wheel in the middle of your rollercoaster masterpiece. Parkitect’s multiplayer update lets up to eight players all hop into the same theme park, working together to build a grand old amusement park in a fraction of the time. You can hop into a sandbox map or any of the game’s campaign scenarios - and while the devs reckon some mods may need a little tinkering to work properly, most should work out of the box in multiplayer....
And look, I’m not saying that the Pirates Of The Caribbean films do not form a billion dollar franchise, but when you tell me that Sea Of Thieves is getting the “Why is the rum gone?” man, I know what sort of feels like the better get for whom. I already knew Potion Craft had a physical quality to it, something that’s drawn me to a lot of games recently. I’ve grown weary of pressing buttons that make things happen and far prefer just being allowed to simulate the thing happening somehow. Potion Craft does have that—from cranking the bellows to strirring your cauldon to chucking your potions around the shop—and it’s just as satisfying as I’d hoped. The real magic of Potion Craft, however, is that it really isn’t about learning recipes at all....

Formed by veterans of Obsidian and Telltale Games, Crispy Creative’s first outing looks to be a big gay space romp - something I am entirely, aggressively here for. While the above trailer doesn’t dig too deep into the game’s mechanical centre, it does set the stage for Long Journey’s premise....

If you don’t have 20 pals to hand for the local Party Mode, there’s a singleplayer Challenge mode, too, where you can attempt to secure yourself as a top Glurper on the game’s global leaderboard....

Grove Street Games (formerly War Drum Studios) have rebuilt the three games in Unreal Engine with graphical fanciness like new lighting, high-res textures, a longer draw distance, fancier models, as well as GTA5-style controls. It’s a curious look. I think the originals look a bit cartoony partially from technical limitations and partially from style. The remasters are heavily cartoony, expanding on what they actually looked like without consideration for what they tried to look like....
In 2018, 10 of Rocksteady’s 16 female employees (at a company of over 200 people) signed a letter to management raising complaints about sexual harrassment and other inappropriate behaviour. One signatory felt the company hadn’t done enough since then and shared the letter with The Guardian, claiming that some of the women had left the company due to management’s inaction. After that, the former senior writer of Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad to say she had drafted the letter, that she felt pressure not to rock the boat, and that she believed she lost her job as a result of it....
