Like a lot of modern photo modes, the one in Days Gone lets you remove certain characters and objects from a scene to help you compose better pictures. Got a great shot of Deacon but there’s a pesky NPC or Freaker zombie doing something stupid in the background? You can just whip them out by disabling the ‘Other Character Visibility’ option in the Character tab of the photo mode’s menu options....
The new update is titled Barrels O’ Fun, which I imagine is mostly when you’re on the sending end of said barrels rather than receiving. Motion Twin say that there are new barrel-chucking enemies and mimics disguised as barrels as well. Both are explosive. Not to worry though, turnabout is fair play. You’ll also be able to pick up the new Barrel Launcher bazooka weapon that fires bouncing barrels of explosive joy at your enemies....

I like snapping wheels onto vehicles of my own creation and then watching them topple over, helplessly, like a sad turtle, or a sad turtle covered in Lego. There are some great vehicle designs in the video above, too. I particularly like the entirely impractical ring of wheels. But it’s the map that excites me most. There’s an obvious meta structure about delivering items across the planet’s surface, and its Steam description includes mention of earning credits, unlock technology and overcoming a hostile landscape....
Bungie have (mostly) good news for veteran players too, revealing plans to overhaul armour mod slots to be less of a faffy mess. With the Beyond Light expansion now barely a month away, launching November 10th, Bungie detailed more of its changes in their latest This Week At Bungie post last night. Destiny 2’s new player experience is awful right now. After a short mission with little explanation, you’re dropped into the main social hub with little clue who you are, who anyone else is, or what’s happened....

Apparently the AI wants to test our resolve to do tedious things, as if the grindfest of the Guardian Games wasn’t enough. For the first step, he’s asking us for three million completions of the Seraph Tower event on Earth, three million on the Moon, and three million on Io. Sheesh....

“We can’t tell you whether it’s a sequel or a prequel or a racing game just yet,” the devs say. “But please know that it’s more gay.” I’m sold. Beyond that, details are pretty light right now. Though, EggNut do mention that the Geezers (geese men) will return, and they posted a nice picture of some Geezer art too. Fans have a lot of questions and comments about what else the devs might include in their announcement Twitter thread as well, which has mostly resulted in daft comebacks - or a hint at EggNut’s exceptional ability to make a game with no gameplay, who knows?...
And yet I enjoyed it so much that I almost pitched a review a few years back. It’s tough, for sure, and I don’t think it’s the most approachable stealth platformer, but it feels fair. It doesn’t waste your time. If it had come out a few years earlier, it would probably have been pretty big. It can now be yours, along with literally over one thousand other games, as part of the Itch Bundle For Racial Justice And Equality....

Doom Eternal Nekravol Part II collectables guide This mission of Doom Eternal has 15 collectable secrets to be found. Slayer Keys are a distant memory, but there are plenty of other encounters and items to find along the way. Don’t get this confused with Nekravol, as that is a whole separate mission. As always, it’s worth noting that at the end of the level, you’ll unlock the ability to Fast Travel to specific points in the level....
Could be a lark? Dota players will know Aghanim as “that bloke who makes cool staffs”. He’s been trapped in another dimension for eons and has now lured you in with him for the lols. That’s what I’m getting from the eyebrows in this (quite nice) cinematic trailer, anyway. The labyrinth is a series of rooms with monsters in them. You drub them up, then get to pick which skills you want as a reward, and which monsters you want to fight next....

It is, apparently, a “new saga” and not directly based on any of the existing games or Dragon Age stories. At this point, I feel like all these fantasy not-quite-anime Netflix shows are beginning to blur together. If you showed me stills of the trailer above and told me it was from the Netflix Dota series, I’d believe you....
Techland say in their announcement that they “need more development time to fulfill our vision.” They don’t name a new date or timeframe for Dying Light 2’s launch. Instead, Techland say they will share more details in the next few months as they have more information. Matt was sold when he played the Dying Light 2 preview at E3 last year. “Unfinished” Swan, eh? It all looks quite finished to be, but what do I know about birds? Released way back in the naive days of 2012, The Unfinished Swan was a Playstation 3 puzzling explore ’em up from Giant Sparrow, the devs who’d go on to release the fantastic Edith Finch five years later. For whatever reason, their feathery debut has finally landed on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store....
Similar to last year, TESO has given the name Gates Of Oblivion to the overarching story for the year in which you’ll “unravel the ambitions and schemes of the Daedric Prince Mehrunes Dagon 800 years before the events of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.” As with 2020’s Skyrim storyline, it’s broken up into releases throughout 2021. The Flames Of Ambition DLC is scheduled for March, with the Blackwood expansion arriving in June....
The biggest change is that shared missions have been added. This means that any of the missions added in Odyssey can be shared with teammates, letting you tackle them together and share the rewards. After that, there are simply hundreds of fixes, balance changes and visual tweaks. Terrain will look better at ports, neutron stars aren’t so bright, AI crime scanning has been “softened”, certain loot drops are more generous, and what seems like a hundred other things have been fixed according to the full patch notes....
Endling - Extinction Is Forever is one such game. You play as a fox mother trying to keep her four cubs alive in a post-apocalyptic world, and from that premise alone it definitely feels like developers Herobeat Studios are deadset on making me cry. After playing through the game in two evenings, Endling didn’t end up being the emotional gut punch I had braced myself for, but its story of scrappy survival did have me reaching for the tissues by the closing credits....
