So what did we get back then? What do you get now with the updated PC version? Sonic Adventure 2 looked really good for the time, and it’s still a decent early(ish) 3D platformer despite the horrible camera. Sonic Adventure 2 also had one of the best Sonic story lines: what if a “clone” of Sonic allies with Dr Eggman and frames Sonic for crimes against the people? It was a bit melodramatic at times, sure, but it took some risks without going too far off the deep end....

The Matrix: Path Of Neo is the best Matrix game we have, and to be fair it’s bags of fun. You play through a strange hodge-podge of the plots from the movies and Animatrix, though only from Neo’s point of view. That means cubicle stealth sections, kung fu training and even that bit where Neo fails to leap between two buildings like a right novice. Then there’s the moment the Wachowskis (or the digital representations of their mental selves, as they’re keen to clarify) appear on screen to explain the game’s upcoming ending....

The best way of picturing it is to imagine that scene from John Wick 3 where they crash into a knife emporium (or something) and start chucking knives at each other. You do start with weapons, but it’s far more fun to fight with random objects. A pillow might become an impromptu shield, while a mounted medieval axe becomes an impromptu… axe. Even when you’re not chewing up the scenery, fights exude John Wick energy....

Hopefully you installed the game somewhere sensible on your PC that’s easy to get to, but if not, you can always search for “Crysis Remastered” in Windows Explorer if you’re having trouble locating it. Here’s the trailer introducing the map: Agent 47 heads to Ambrose Island to “help an old friend rectify his mistake”, which I’m guessing he accomplishes the only way 47 would know how: by killing people via thematically-appropriate paraphernalia like a bizarro-world Guybrush Threepwood. The map will be added alongside some as-yet undetailed quality-of-life improvements on July 26th. Although this is the biggest, it’s not the only piece of content coming to Hitman 3 in July....

If you head to the Hitman 3 store page on Steam or on Epic, you’ll no longer see seven options, but two. Hitman: World Of Assassination includes Hitman 3, Hitman 2, and Hitman 1 with all its DLC. It’s currently 45% off, making it £32.17. The other option is the Hitman World Of Assassination Deluxe Pack, which includes all of the above plus the DLC for Hitman 2 and 3....

Thankfully, they’re pretty much exactly the same as Kojima’s post-apocalyptic courier sim, Death Stranding, which isn’t surprising given that they run on the same engine, but if you’ve been merrily building bridges and delivering packages in the old Stranding, you should be pretty good to go when Horizon bounds onto PC on August 7th. The good news is that it’s a very similar situation to Death Stranding’s PC requirements. Horizon Zero Dawn is a little heavier on the RAM and storage front, admittedly, but its recommended spec still only lists either a 6GB GTX 1060 or an 8GB RX 580 graphics card to get a smooth 60fps at 1080p, the former of which is the very same Nvidia card as Death Standing’s recommended 60fps 1080p requirements....

How to two hand weapons in Elden Ring Most characters begin the game wielding a weapon in one hand and a shield in the other. The main exception is the Warrior, who does own a shield but begins with a Scimitar equipped to each hand. You can switch out your character’s equipped items in the Equipment menu. Two handing your weapon is not the same as dual wielding. Check out Humble’s Square Enix publisher sale for up to 85% off Nier Automata and Nier Replicant ver.1.22474487139 (aka the 2021 remaster) are probably the standout picks for me, and well worth playing if you’ve not experienced the rich and varied series before. Another game I’d put in that category is Octopath Traveler, which debuted on Switch but plays much better on PC at 60fps. It offers a cool retro/modern take on the classic JRPG formula, and is also well worth experiencing (and it’s also on Game Pass if you happen to have that!...

However, I’m beginning to think their (clear and apparent) hatred of video games goes further than simple disinterest. I was playing A Plague Tale for the first time last week, a game famous for its swarms of screeching rats, and STILL nothing. They love hunting rats and bringing them home to leave as little presents for us on our back door step. Heck, they’ll even wig out and go into prowl mode when they hear them scrabbling away underneath our floorboards (yes, we do have a rat problem in our house)....
